Honour Key Art

Honour is a tv production that aired in September 2020 on ITV. It tells the true story of a young woman named Banaz Mahmod, who was murdered by her own family in a so-called “honour” killing for falling in love with the “wrong” man. Detective Caroline Goode left no stone unturned to get justice for Banaz - Banaz had been to the police five times to ask for help before she was murdered. On one of these occasions, she provided a list of names of the men who would ultimately ended up murdering her. All of them were successfully convicted and are now serving prison sentences.

I had this image in my head since the production was originally announced in summer 2019 - I wanted to create a piece of art for the show that shows that this is ultimately Banaz’s story - by putting Banaz front and center, but still keeping a connection to Caroline.
