When an oil production platform reaches the end of its life it must be decommissioned - it needs to be dismantled, removed and the location must be returned to its original condition. For Spirit Energy’s “ST-1” platform this time had come, and they needed an animation to explain the process and timeline of the decommissioning process.

Based on a script supplied by the client, I created an animated piece from storyboard, over design and animatic to final animation production.
